Jesus frees hotelier from spiritual attacks
V was miraculously healed by Jesus from a long bout of sickness and dedicated herself to Him. Trying to grow in her faith and attending church, however, was difficult because of constant spiritual attacks. Here is her testimony of being freed from ungodly spirits, to experience God in joy hope and peace through the power of the Holy Spirit. Praise God!

I noticed strange patterns whenever I attended church or small groups.
It was very hard for me to stay focused, as much as I wanted to. I had severe stomach pain 90% of the time and would get very angry without good reason. A mentor also noticed these unusual patterns and asked if I wanted to do a renewal prayer. I said yes but then postponed for almost a year because of fear. My mom had always taught me that “If you don’t bother spirits, they won’t bother you.” I was afraid that demons would intrude my life.
I worshiped many false idols before coming to Christ. As much as I hated it, I was able to see and hear “dead people”.
My family also consults fortune tellers regularly. Once, I got into a car crash the very day I got out of hospital after recovering from a very painful sickness. We went to a fortune teller for advice. He told me that a “baby ghost” aborted by a family member years ago wanted to take my life. He reminded me that I should not tell anyone about it. Otherwise, I could lose my life.
Having these lies engraved in my head, I was very afraid to go through a renewal prayer.
I’m very glad that God didn’t give up on me and sent a few people to encourage me. They said that it’s 100% guaranteed that I would benefit from a renewal prayer, so I finally decided to do it.
I completed a form that was over 10 pages about my family history, past spiritual practices, sexual life and past hurts. There were many things I was very uncomfortable disclosing, but I knew there is nothing I can hide from God if I want Him to help me. God works in wonderful ways. He provided a prayer counsellor who shared similar struggles with me in her past, so I felt very safe sharing with her. I no longer felt ashamed after knowing that I wasn’t walking alone.
My renewal prayer experience wasn’t as scary as I had imagined.
There was no puking or rolling on the floor. I was just very nervous and sweated a lot. I was reassured that it wasn’t me who was afraid, but the ungodly spirits in me that were afraid as they knew their time was up.
The prayer counsellors would ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and messages, and then guide me to pray accordingly. The Holy Spirit revealed areas I needed to repent of, past hurts I needed to reconcile and ungodly soul tides I needed to cut off. The prayer took four hours, as I reviewed my life from as long as I could remember into adulthood. I didn’t even realise that some past hurts had held me back in my walk with God and my other relationships. I didn’t know my authority in Christ and that I have 100% victory if I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
I immediately felt lighter afterwards and tasted true joy that I had never experienced before.
It’s been six months since I have done my renewal prayer and I couldn’t be happier. I cry happy tears when I sing worship songs. I can really hear messages from God during sermons. I have unexplainable joy in serving Him, even in something as simple as pressing the lift button as a church usher.
People ask me what renewal prayer is like. I would say it’s like a deep cleaning of your apartment.
You have bags of garbage piling up in your apartment and it’s very hard to let God in. Why not let God dump that trash for you?
I was once very hesitant about renewal prayers. I was afraid of ungodly spirits, revealing my personal life and not being able to live as a victorious Christian afterwards. I was simply WRONG. I’m so glad that I have done it. I can now hear God’s voice better, am free from un-forgiveness and brokenness, and am much more joyful.
If you are still thinking whether a renewal prayer is for you, ask God and He’ll give you the answer.
