Cleansing workplace
We are often unaware of the spiritual dimensions at our workplaces. Many places of business in Asia have been prayed over by chanting monks, feng shui masters, or mediums and are homes to lucky charms, superstitions, sprinkled blood, animal sacrifices, summoning of “gods” or chasing away of bad luck, and other pagan rituals. Perhaps these occur so often around us that we have become numb to the dark demonic realities behind such actions. How can we pray cleansing over our places of work?

At the heart of all superstitious actions is the worship of glory and money. The Bible warns that when we devote ourselves to the love of money, we despise (hate/scorn) God! Our actions open the way for Satan to influence the workplace. Some people seem to sense a “heaviness” or “oppressiveness” at their workplaces, others report falling ill for no reason and unexplainable difficulties at work. What can we do if we suspect that our workplaces have been defiled by mediums and spiritists and dedicated to satanic forces?
Matthew 6:24 ESV “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
Leviticus 19:31 ESV “‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.
A prayer over our workplaces
“Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the work You have given me. Please search my heart and show me if I have made work, money, status or people more important than You. I repent of the idolatry in my heart. Where I have knowingly or unknowingly taken part in any acts of spiritism or pagan rituals and festivals at work, I am sorry.
Leviticus 18:30 ESV So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”
Please grant me Your favour and establish the work You have given me to do, in spite of my circumstances, so that I may testify of Your goodness. I will turn all praise and glory back to Your name. I declare out loud in this workplace that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the Master of my work and my area of work! I declare that I am seated in the heavenly places with Jesus and trust wholly in the power of the name of Jesus to break down ungodly spiritual strongholds around my work. At His name, every knee must bow.
Psalm 90:17 ESV Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
Ephesians 2:4,6 ESV But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us …. raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Philippians 2:9-10 ESV Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
In the name of Jesus, I command all unclean spirits that have attached themselves to any objects and operated in this place to leave in Jesus’ name. I forbid you from coming against me and my work in this place. I destroy lucky charms and objects of witchcraft and superstition (prosperity plants, crystals, figurines, beads, coins etc.) in the name of Jesus, so you cannot come back to these items.
Holy Spirit, please come and reside in my work area and remove any barrier that blocks the good work that my Father in heaven has given me. I pray for God’s blessing over my work area and bind Satan’s schemes in anyone who enters it.
Philippians 2:10 ESV so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
In the name of Jesus, I cancel out any words of hatred or curses said over me or my work. I forgive and bless any work or political enemies and ask for peace and knowledge of God’s truths to come to them and their families. May they all seek You and find the one true God! Holy Spirit, please convict those with evil intentions and draw them to the Father’s loving arms.
Luke 6:27-28 ESV “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Please give me opportunities to have conversations with people outside of the work context, to encourage them in their lives and help them see a loving Father in heaven who is reaching out to them through my actions and words.
Matthew 5:14,16 ESV “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Open my eyes to the mission You have given me in this workplace, oh God, and may I see my co-workers in heaven one day.
