New year

Every new year, people make resolutions that they don’t keep. Thankfully, God keeps all His promises to us every day of every year. Praise God that He has prepared new adventures for us to experience with Him, as He reveals more of His loving character, majesty and power in our lives. Each new year is a new gift filled with His goodness. Let us prepare our hearts to follow Him faithfully and unpack all of His goodness this year.

Psalm 121:8 ESV  The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

A prayer for the new year

“Dear Heavenly Father,

We rejoice in our God most high!

May our eyes be opened to spot all Your numerous blessings this year, and may the struggles of this broken world fade away as we turn our eyes to our perfect Father.

May our fears and anxieties be nailed to the cross, and may we walk in the victory Jesus purchased for us every minute of each day, overflowing in confidence and joy!

Galatians 6:14 ESV  But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

May we be faithful to the good works that You have prepared for us to do and not be anxious about anything. This world may tempt, discourage and distract us, but we will not leave Your divine will for our lives.

Ephesians 2:10 ESV For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Throughout this year, may we continue to be moulded into the spiritual perfection that You have prepared from the beginning of time. Thank you, Father.

Philippians 1:6 ESV  And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

I will give You praise and thanks all year long.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV  Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
