God’s goodness
God’s Word is full of reminders of His goodness. It is powerful to pray using scripture that has been declared by millions of people for thousands of years. His Word and goodness never change. Here is a prayer for us that is adapted from Proverbs 6, Psalms 34 and 139 to praise God for His goodness.

A prayer about God’s goodness
“Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise You for the works of your hands, that you knew us even before we were formed. That You love us and adopted us into Your wonderful spiritual heritage and untold riches.
Psalm 139:1-6 ESV O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
Blessed are those of us who take refuge in You!
Psalm 34:8 ESV Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
With the fear of the Lord in our hearts, we lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Psalm 34:10 NIV The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
We will love life and see many good days, as we keep our tongue from speaking evil and lies. As we turn from evil and do good; we will also seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:12-14 ESV What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Thank you that Your eyes are on the righteous, and Your ears are attentive to our cries! Thank You that The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Though we may have many troubles, You, oh Lord, deliver us from them all.
Psalm 34:15 ESV The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.
Thank You that no one who takes refuge in You will be condemned.
May Your love and faithfulness never leave us; as we bind Your words and statutes around our necks, and write them on the tablet of our hearts. May we win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man, to the glory of Your great name!
In name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!”
