After ministering to or praying for others, people may sometimes feel that things aren’t back to “normal”. There may be unexplained body pains, emotional changes, temptations or odd events, which occurred almost too coincidentally afterwards. Just as we shower to clean ourselves after a day of work, it is good to also pray cleansing prayers over ourselves after we do the Lord’s work.
John 13:10 ESV Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean…
A cleansing prayer over ourselves
“Thank you, Father God, for a great time of ministry and prayer. I dedicate every outcome to Your glory. May I not seek to gain anything from the ministry time, but reflect every praise to You and You alone.
In the name of Jesus, I cleanse myself of anything unclean that I may have encountered during the ministry time, and send it to the feet of Jesus Christ, my saviour and Lord.
Philippians 2:10 ESV so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
In the name of Jesus, who has conquered all spiritual rulers and authorities in this world, I forbid any backlash of any form from the enemy over me, my loved ones, my work, my possessions, my pets and my spiritual blessings – in short, anything pertaining to me!
Colossians 2:14-15 ESV By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
I invite the Holy Spirit to sanctify me. May I be a pleasing and pure temple for the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:26-27 ESV that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
I thank you, Father God, that You continue to deliver me from evil and keep me safe from the enemy’s temptations and deceptions. Thank you for sending Your angels to protect and guard all Your children.
Exodus 23:20,22 ESV “Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. “But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
Please show me anything in me that hinders me from listening clearly to the Holy Spirit’s conviction. I want only clean hands and a pure, humble, faithful heart, so that You can continue to use your servant for Your kingdom work.
John 16:7-8 ESV Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:
Matthew 5:8 ESV Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God
I praise You for all eternity and join everything in heaven, on earth and under the earth in proclaiming, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty!
Isaiah 6:2-3 ESV Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
In Jesus’s name, amen!”
